WASSSUPPP friends! This may be out of laziness or maybe I just think it’s a fun idea; moving forward, each month I am going to post a “What’s Up, Welcome Woman?” (WUWW) post. The series will be short, random, and easy going! This will help you get to know a little bit more about me and what’s going on in my life…which is sometimes boring, and sometimes TOO exciting. But one thing I’ve learned recently, is that we have to embrace those boring, almost seemingly pointless moments in our life, as well as the thrilling, jump up and down moments – because they all add up to make the person you are!
This series will be 5 bullet points and that’s it. Are you ready?!
What is the WW reading?
I just finished the book Born To Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen by Christopher McDougall, and WOW! What an amazing book. Even if you don’t like to run, this book will grab your attention and never let go! Are you wondering why we (people in modern society) have so many running (sports) injuries, yet people like the Tarahumara tribe, with no access to shoes/equipment/trainers/doctors, etc., are among the best athletes in the world?! This book answers that question and more! Also, I cried at the end of the book..that shows how enraptured you become while reading this book. I mean seriously, who cries at the end of a book about running?
I am also in the middle of reading Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gillbert – and, oh my! Amazing book. Warning though…this will make you want to quit your job and travel…well, until you look at your bank account!
What is the WW most recent purchase?
Well if we’re speaking in literal terms, it would be this ginormous honey and cinnamon latte from Milltown Coffee, but that’s not as fun as tickets to Belize. (Although, it’s like happiness in a cup). But YES! I booked a plane ticket to Belize and I’m headed to the island of San Pedro in July with three, hopefully four, of my favorite ladies!
If you’re wanting to travel somewhere with cheap flights, Belize is the place to go! We purchased round trip tickets for $450. YASSS!
What is the WW watching?
F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I have no life. I’ve seen every episode a million times. I still can’t get enough of this show. I. LOVE. FRIENDS!
What is something the WW has never done before but tried this month?
I applied to be a volleyball coach at a local high school. Stay tuned for next month’s WUWW post to find out if I got it or not!
What can the WW not get enough of?
Indian food. I want all of the chana masala and aloo gobi. ALL OF IT! Oh, and the naan, I want all of that, too!
Peace. Love. What up.
XO. The Welcome Woman
